single sign on
A mechanism that allows a user to log in to multiple systems in a single operation rather than logging in to each system separately. For example, a user provides his log-in credentials once to Information Console to access a report residing on Actuate BIRT iServer, which uses an Actuate information object to obtain information from any data source.
