There are only minor differences between the requirements for deploying to Tomcat version 6.0 and deploying to other versions of Apache Tomcat. Apache Tomcat 6.0 runs Java 5 by default, which is also one of the recommended versions to use for BIRT 2.6. If you use an earlier version of Java, you need to install a compatibility package and configure Apache Tomcat to use the Java 1.4 run-time environment.
