document object model (DOM)
A model that defines the structure of a document such as an Extensible Markup Language (XML) or HyperText Markup Language (HTML) document. The DOM defines interfaces that dynamically create, access, and manipulate the internal structure of the document. The Uniform Resource Locator (URL) to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) document object model is:
