Obtaining data for a cross tab A cross tab typically derives data from a cube. A cube is a multidimensional data structure that is optimized for analysis and reporting. In BIRT Studio, a cross tab retrieves data from a data object, which typically contains at least one data set and can contain at least one cube, but can contain many data sets and many cubes. Ensure that you select a data object that contains one or more cubes to create the cross tab.
